
What inspired her to coach?
Mariel’s love for fitness began with playing sports growing up and deepened in college through group fitness classes. After moving to Des Moines, a transformative hot yoga class inspired her to dive into coaching. She loves helping others find balance, strength, and joy in their movement.
Favorite exercise:
Yoga, walking, weights, and Pilates — a mix that keeps both body and mind engaged.
Favorite class to teach:
Vinyasa Yoga. Mariel enjoys guiding students through flowing sequences while incorporating elements of Yin Yoga for deeper stretches and relaxation.

Outside the gym:
Mariel loves spending time with her two sons and their dog, enjoying trail walks, reading, connecting with friends, and savoring life’s simple pleasures.
